When you have an injury, part of getting better may involve rehabilitation. This is when specific exercises are chosen for you and taught to you in order to help you recover. At Move we have both Physiotherapists and Exercise Physiologists who can help you with rehabilitation here in Brisbane.
Rehabilitation – Done with a Physiotherapist
This type of rehab involves a history and examination done in the consult room as an initial session. They will then design an exercise program for you and your condition. After that you will be guided through the exercises one-on-one in our exercise space.
Exercise may continue as one-on-one sessions or small group sessions. The program may contain Pilates-based exercises and will include rehabilitation exercises. They will check your progress and make changes as needed. It is claimable on Your Private Health Insurance.
Rehabilitation – Done with an Exercise Physiologist
Exercise Physiologists have training in the delivery of exercise programs for many types of conditions. A consult will involve questions and some examination of movements. This happens in a consult room in your first visit.
They will make an exercise program just for you and then show you how to do the exercises. There will be exercises to be done at the clinic with them and exercises done at home. Most follow up sessions will be done in our gym with reviews done in the consult room or gym space.
Exercise physiologists can work with a large range of conditions. Some of these include:
- Back and neck pain,
- Joint pains.
- Chronic pain.
They are also helpful in managing exercises for a specific injury or exercises after surgery. In addition they often help people manage multiple conditions at once and can help to motivate you to see your rehab through.
