Dr Jess Watson – Associate Osteopath

Dr Jess Watson (Osteopath) graduated from RMIT University in Melbourne with a Bachelor of Health Science and a Bachelor of Applied Science (Osteopathy). Jess is passionate about helping her patients and has done further study in clinical Pilates. She also holds certification in myofascial dry needling.

Jess grew up on the Mornington Peninsula, an hour south of Melbourne. She has only recently made the move to the ‘Sunshine State’. Growing up, Jess was always surrounded by sport, playing both netball and tennis. This resulted in a number of sporting injuries, which is what lead her to an interest in the human body. After discovering what an Osteopath was, it became clear that this was the career path for her.

Whilst at university, Jess was the head sports trainer for a local AFL club, where she got to see and treat a vast range of injuries. She also spent 4 weeks volunteering in hospitals in India. During this time she was able to watch surgeries and treat patients alongside experienced osteopaths, physiotherapists and surgeons.

Jess has a keen interest treating sporting injuries, but also enjoys treating postural dysfunctions that result in back and neck pain.

Jess’ treatments are all tailored to the specific patient’s needs, and she uses a broad range of osteopathic techniques. These include soft tissue massage, dry needling, manipulation, muscle energy techniques, counter-strain techniques, articulation and kinesio taping when required.

When not treating patients Jess enjoys exploring beaches on the coast, attending pilates classes or umpiring local netball.
