Dr Ellie Sweeney – Associate Osteopath

Ellie is an enthusiastic Osteopath with a strong interest in preventative and rehabilitate health care. Her passion for Osteopathy began with her own sporting injuries in rowing and hockey. She graduated from RMIT University with a Bachelor of Health Science/Bachelor of Applied Science (Osteopathy) and has also completed post-graduate qualifications in Dry Needling and Myofascial Cupping.

Ellie focuses on finding and addressing the cause of pain by using a holistic approach to treatment. She uses a range of functional and structural osteopathic techniques and tailors them to each individual. She will also prescribe specific exercises so that the patient can be proactive in their own health care.

Ellie is passionate about helping each patient get the knowledge and skills to achieve long term results and the most optimal health outcome for each individual. Ellie has a keen interest in treating headaches and migraines, having suffered many herself as a child. She utilities a more gentle and indirect approach to calm the nervous system when needed. These techniques can include Counterstrain, Myofascial Release or Balanced Ligamentous Tension (BLT).

Ellie is also a Pilates Instructor and has had further training in Pilates to complement her osteopathic skills. She will now be offering private ‘Clinical Rehab’ services which uses Pilates-based exercises tailored to your individual needs to get you back moving and doing the activities you love.

Dr Ellie Sweeney is available Monday, Tuesday, Thursday Friday and Saturday at our our New Farm (James Street) Clinic.
