After living in the UK and working in health clubs as a sales manager in London, Monique returned to Australia and began her Pilates and fitness education. Completing certificate IV in Fitness instruction and a Pilates matwork course in Sydney in 2002. Inspired by the benefits of Pilates she went on to complete a Stott Pilates certification in matwork and equipment. Early on in her teaching she completed courses specialising in injury rehabilitation, pregnancy and exercises for the elderly.
For nine years Monique ran and operated one of the first fully equipped Pilates studios in Brisbane located in Fortitude Valley. In 2009 she completed the Advanced Diploma in professional Pilates practice. This certification provided more education opportunities and she is now studying a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy part time at ACU. On the weekends she volunteers with Brisbane Paralympic Football Program helping out with education content, images and editing videos for their social media pages.
In 2012 Monique discovered Dynamic Neuromuscular Stablisation (DNS) and is certified as a DNS exercise trainer. During her Pilates and DNS journey she has travelled to London, New York and Sydney for training, workshops and industry conferences.
