Erica KnightPilates Instructor

Erica is clearly excited about movement and has made it her career to share and teach fun, effective and practical ways to move through Pilates and yoga.

Erica has been teaching movement for over twenty five years and has an Advanced Diploma of the Pilates Method with PilatesITC as well as having completed the Comprehensive Studio Series with Polestar Pilates and the Basic Seminar training with the classical Romana Pilates. She is also a qualified yoga teacher and has a Cert IV in Fitness.

Having come from an athletic and fitness trainer background, with a past career also as an Ambulance Paramedic, Erica found that teaching Pilates and yoga was a very natural career progression and great way to consolidate all her previous knowledge and skills to offer her students the very best movement and wellbeing outcomes.

Her teaching style focuses on precise technique with a nurturing attitude. Understanding that many people join a Pilates or yoga class due to injury rehab, movement deficits or returning to exercise post illness, Erica’s goal is to build a strong rapport, establish trust and guide students effectively and safely towards their goals, and give them the strength, flexibility, skills and confidence to experience life with the utmost joy and success.

When she is not teaching Erica is obsessively reading, researching and testing movement and wellness theories and techniques, or she can be found moving about with her two dogs and husband in the local parks. She loves playing around with Pilates, yoga and gymnastics skills, going trail running, swimming or cycling, and trying to be a better person through meditation and yogic and stoic philosophy practices.

Erica is a level 4 Pilates Alliance Australasia member, 200hr Registered Yoga Teacher with Yoga Alliance and a thirty year member of Physical Activity Australia.
